Francene Lifson, Executive Director

Francene has dedicated her life to helping others who suffer
from asthma and allergies. For nearly 15 years, Francene has
served as Executive Director of the California Chapter
of the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America.. She is respected
as a distinguished patient advocate who has spearheaded model
health care programs, influenced public policy change and
improved access to care for California’s most
vulnerable-underserved children and seniors. Francene is
accountable for the many vital programs and services including
the Breathmobile®, “asthma clinics on wheels”, Asthma Camp, the
golden Age Senior Program, professional and community programs,
and Air Power Games®, (a track and field day for children with
asthma.) Francene’s career background includes 12 years
experience with the American Red Cross, where she was
continuously elevated to positions of increased responsibility.
She served as Assistant Director of the Los Angeles Blood
Service (the world’s largest voluntary blood donor center). She
also served as Red Cross Regional Campaign Director for 5 years.
She was Campaign Manager of the Western Region for the United
Way of Greater Los Angeles. Each campaign resulted in excess of
$16.2 million dollars. The Region was a three-time winner of the
Loebbecke Award given for the greatest percentage of dollar
increase over the previous year. Francene received her
Bachelors of Art degree from the University of Iowa and majored
in Communications. She has asthma and allergies and serves as a
role model for others who suffer. She balances her life with
love of family, career and community service. |
